ABC announces the renewal of The Bachelor for its 27th season. Clayton Echard’s 26th season ended in unprecedented fashion, and viewers want more.
Fans will be excited to hear the news that ABC has renewed its famous unscripted series The Bachelor for its whopping 27th season running. The network also renewed some of their other popular reality shows such as American Idol, Shark Tank and America’s Funniest Home Videos. These series continue to be some of the network’s most successful as well as longest running programs to date. Shark Tank was renewed for its 14th season, American Idol renewed for season 21 and America’s Funniest Home Videos is entering its impressive 33rd year on air.
The newest season of the hit series will be hosted by Jesse Palmer, the hit star of the show’s fifth season. He has since replaced previous host Chris Harrison in season 26 after some controversy. Palmer, who separated with his Bachelor winner only a month after the season 5 finale aired, is also known as a former football player as well as sports commentator and occasional actor. Palmer has had many hosting gigs previous to The Bachelor, and had no issue filling Harrison’s shoes. Next Entertainment as well as Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon will be producing the show. Warner Bros. Television Distribution will play the role as distributor for the series as well.
The official ABC The Bachelor’s Instagram account recently released a short video with text announcing the return of their hit series, which was met with an emotional and overall enthusiastic response from fans in the comments and over social media. “Another season to be here for the right reasons” read the caption of the Insta post. Variety went on to explain the new season of The Bachelor would premiere on ABC network after The Bachelorette as well as Bachelor in Paradise. Fans also chatted about catching up on The Bachelor season 26 finale couple in preparation for the brand new upcoming season.
The network has a plethora of reality television shows under its belt on top of these fan favorites. Celebrity Wheel of Fortune was also renewed, but fans are waiting on renewal news for ABC network shows such as Judge Steve Harvey and Wicked Tuna. It makes sense that The Bachelor was renewed though, for the stats don’t lie and nearly 4 million fans tuned in to watch the love blossom and drama unfold over the show’s latest season. It’s apparent the interest is still out there, so fans should be content that the network is giving them what they asked for.
In the past, The Bachelor has produced some iconic reality TV stars and fan favorite members such as Sarah Herron, Rachel Lindsay and Sharleen Joynt, all of whom have stirred up some enjoyable drama one way or another. Though trouble can often sprout from drama, Bachelor contestants discussing mental health has become a more common conversation and an important one at that. In light of the topic, fans can expect another fun, drama filled and addictive season of The Bachelor and will be able to tune in to the commotion on the ABC Network and will also be able to stream on Hulu if preferred.
